    Mr. Kunzang Dechen (2008-2011)

    Mr. Kuenzang Dechen has a master's degree in International Relations from the University of Hawaii and a Post Graduate Diploma in US Economic Policy and Domestic US Legislation from George¬town University, Washington DC, the United States. During his post graduate studies in the US, he also worked as a research intern in the International Relations Division at the East-West Center, Honolulu for two and a half years. He served in the Foreign service for 10 years and last served as the Head of the Economic Division at the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in New Delhi. Thereafter for the last thirteen years, he has worked extensively as a consultant for the Royal Government of Bhutan and with various international development agencies, primarily the EU, ACB and the UNDP. He has also worked part-time as the Senior Policy Advisor to the UNDP and served as a Board Director of the Bhutan National Bank.

    Dasho Sonam Tshering (2007-2010)

    Dasho Sonam Tshering received his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi and Master of Science in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University, the United Kingdom. He started his career as an Assistant Engineer in Druk Air Corporation and moved up the career ladder to become the Managing Director of Druk Air Corporation in 1991. He served as the Managing Director of Druk Air after which he was appointed as the Director of the Department of Power under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. He also served as the Managing Director of Bhutan Power Corporation and as Director General of the Department of Energy. In August 2007, he was appointed the Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

    Mr. Karma Tshiteem acquired his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Sherubtse College, Bhutan and his MBA Degree from the University of Canberra, Australia. He started his career as an Assistant Finance Officer, Public Enterprise Division, NBACD. He was promoted as Senior Programme Officer, Multilateral and Loans Section and was later appointed Head of the Aid Coordination Section in 1999. In 2000, he served as the Deputy Secretary, Planning and Policy Division. Thereafter Mr. Tshiteem was transferred as the Director with the Department of Public Accounts. He worked as a researcher in the People's Project Research I from 2006 till 2007, until his appointment as the Secretary of the GNH Commission in 2007.

    Late Lam Dorji, was a Former Secretary to the Ministry of Finance .He began his career in 1975 as an Assistant Accountant in the Ministry of Finance and was promoted as Section Officer on 1 July, 1980 and then promoted to the post of Director on 16 August, 1999. He served as the Director until 2006 for various departments under the Ministry of Finance. On 1 July, 2006, he was appointed as the Secretary of Planning Commission now the Gross National Happiness Commission. On 13 March, 2008, he was appointed as the Government Secretary for the Ministry of Finance.

    Dasho Dr. Sonam Tenzin (2010-2013)

    Dr. Sonam Tenzin did his MBBS from Bangalore Medical Institute, India in 1982 and later his MPH (Public Health) from Tulana School, USA in 1989. Receiver of Gold Medal from His Majesty the Fourth King for National Service in Gelephu in 1976, he started his career as District Medical Officer in 1985. With years and experience he rose to Zonal Health Officer (1992). He was Sarpang Dzongda (district administrator) for about 6 years and Tashigang Dzongda for 2 years by 2000. He served as Directorial posts in various Government Organizations, and as Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources before he was apponited as the Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Human Settlement.

    Dasho Penjore holds MA in Economics from Northeastern University, Boston. He did B.Com (Hons) from Delhi University, India. His employment record include Deputy Governor of Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan, Fellow Research on His Majesty's Research Project-People Project Research I and Gyalpoi Zimpon (Royal Chamberlain) since January 2007. He is member of the working committee for designing and launching Bhutan's National Pension plan, member of inter-ministerial working committee for drafting Bhutan's first FDI policy, and member of the Working Group for Bhutan's WTO Accession. He is associated with Secretary General, Bhutan India Friendship Association (BIFA) and former Board Member of the India Bhutan Foundation.

    Mr. Namgay Nidup did his Masters in Public Administration & Financial Management and Post Graduate in International Financial Management in 1984 from University of Southern California (USC), USA. He also has done certification courses in Public Financial Management, Banking and Financial Management, Project Evaluation, Planning and Control from various universities in UK and USA. He did BA (Hons) in Public Administration in 1980 from Punjab University, Chandigarh, India. He started his career in early 1980s as Assistant Planning and Program Officer under then Ministry of Communications and Tourism. Then he served as Program Co-ordinator in His Majesty's Secretariat. After serving in various government Agencies as Head and Chief, he moved in Corporate sector as Managing Director of Bhutan Board Products Limited in 1999. Currently he is the CEO of Mega Private Limited, Phuntsholing, Bhutan, a 100 TPD Vanaspati & Refined Oil Manufacturing factory.

    Mr. Tenzin Dhendup, is a Former Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests . He began his career as a Trainee Officer in Warm Water Fishery Centre (WWFC), Gelephu on 1 February, 1981. He served in various capacities as Assistant Fishery Officer and Project Director in WWFC, Gelephu, after which he was transferred to Department of Research and Development. On 26 January, 2000 he was promoted as the Director for Department of Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture & Forests. On 21 May, 2014, he was appointed as the Government Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests.

    Dasho Ugen Chewang is the current Chairman of DHI. Dasho Ugen Chewang started his career in 1979 and served the civil service for more than two decades. He served as the Auditor General for more than nine years from December 2005 to July 2015. His Majesty awarded him the red scarf and title of Dasho on the 104th National Day in 2011.

    Mr. Karma Yonten

    Mr. Karma Yonten received his Electrical Engineering Degree as a Fulbright scholar from the University of Kansas, USA, and his MBA Degree from Hitotsubashi University, Japan. He started his career as a Civil Servant in the Department of Power/Energy in the Ministry of Trade and Industry. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the Bhutan Electricity Authority when he resigned from the Civil Service. Prior to taking up his position as the Chief Executive Officer of DHI, he was a Consultant with Ongdi Consulting Services and a member of the Bhutan Electricity Authority, Bhutan National Bank and a board director for Bhutan Telecom.
