Along with a team from Bhutan Foundation, College of Science and Technology, Tshering Wangzom, Analyst, and Mani Kumar Basnet, Associate Analyst from Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck Super Fab Lab attended the EMPOWER Conference 2023 In IIT Madras Research Park that took place from 4th to the 6th of this month.

The EMPOWER conference is an annual gathering that unites various stakeholders in the Assistive Technology(AT) domain, including researchers, innovators, user organizations, businesses, and policymakers. 

The event showcased the boundless potential of the Assistive Technology (AT) ecosystem, bringing together dedicated minds engaged in research, policy advocacy, and support for disabled individuals. The conference served as a platform where experts, innovators, and advocates came together to redefine possibilities. 

One of the highlights was an inspiring visit to Vidya Sagar, a school for children with special needs. The visit allowed me to witness the resilience and creativity of remarkable young minds. It's a testament to the exceptional work being done to provide quality education and support these individuals.

The journey took us to the National Institute of Speech & Hearing in Thiruvananthapuram, a beacon of hope and opportunity for students seeking higher education. These institutions are nurturing grounds for talent and promise, propelling society toward a more inclusive future.

EMPOWER 2023 was a transformative experience that left us with renewed determination to break down barriers, promote accessibility, and champion the rights of those who deserve every opportunity in the world. Let's continue working together to create a more inclusive and accessible future!
