Building a Science Technology and Innovation Economy
Through an Innovation Ecosystem
DHI's comprehensive innovation strategy incorporates an Innovation Ecosystem, bringing together national and global stakeholders, funneled by three codependent and interacting stakeholders:
DHI's Innovation Accelerator (Innotech Department) fuels Bhutan's tech economy through R&D, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship (ideate, prototype, launch).
Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck Super Fab Lab is DHI's open platform for digital design, fabrication & innovation. It empowers users to test ideas & fuels Bhutan's global innovation. The SFL is a US project, started in MIT, and Bhutan’s SFL is one of four worldwide. It provides access to the cutting edge of manufacturing capabilities including 3D printers and laser cutters, greatly expanding the technological capacity of Bhutan’s R&D sector.
Bhutan Tech Trust Fund supports ecosystem participants by funding successful innovation implementation and scaling. It fosters a venture capital approach and bolsters risk tolerance for promising DHI entrepreneurs.
