Today, DHI contributes about 25% to the national GDP, operating across industries ranging from Energy, Telecom, Banking, Mines and Minerals. It is now imperative to strategize the next-generation industries not only to ensure future relevance but also to take the opportunity of the exponential growth of technology and the global AI industrial era. With the current global technological progress, the world is on the edge of a revolution which could redefine economies and global power, and DHI should be ready to leapfrog Bhutan’s economy toward building a sustainable future.
Furthermore, with the establishment of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) as a Special Administrative Region, it is crucial for DHI to accelerate its journey to maintain relevance on both national and global fronts, in alignment with the vision of GMC.
